Lili Trenkova
I’m a landscape and interior designer with backgrounds as varied as theater, architecture, and community organizing. In this practice I combine two decades of design experience with a lifelong study of ecology. I was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, now based in the Wallkill River watershed of Leni Lenape land.
I approach design with the notion that anything is possible, including that the end goal may change throughout the process. I strive to view obstacles as guiding parameters, rather than limitations and focus on what we can do vs. what we can’t. To me, the beauty of design is in its constant fluidity, both throughout the process and afterwards. A design is never truly complete: even after it’s built, a house continues to change as it gets lived in, and a yard continues to evolve as the plants grow in it–each a unique, living ecosystem to be loved and treasured. I look forward to working with you on creating yours!
