Services

Lili Trenkova Design offers a range of services, from consultations to full design.

Virtual Consultation

This can be a one-time conversation or the beginning of a larger-scope project. For one-time consultations, we will use the hour to go over the needs, wants, and challenges with your space. You will get suggestions on the spot, and within a week after we speak, you will receive a written summary of the suggestions, along with any pertinent links to resources. Clients can be located anywhere in the U.S.

* The cost of this initial consultation will be discounted from the fees for larger-scope design projects.

In-Person Consultation

This too can be a one-time conversation or the beginning of a larger-scope project.  Lili will arrange a visit to your space, do a walk-through with you, and  use the hour to go over the needs, wants, and challenges with your space. You will get suggestions on the spot, and within a week after we speak, you will receive a written summary of the suggestions, along with any pertinent links to resources.

* In-person consultations are currently only available for clients in Sussex or Morris counties in New Jersey, Pike County in Pennsylvania, and Orange County in New York – but Lili will accommodate the right project regardless of location.

Full or Partial Design Services

You will receive design support every step of the way, from our first initial concepts through physical realization. For landscape designs, this includes planning, sketches and revisions, ongoing conversations, full set of plans and planting list, as well as coordination with the landscaper of your choice. For interior designs, this includes planning, sketches and revisions, ongoing conversations, finishes, fixtures, and equipment selection, full set of plans, as well as coordination with the contractor of your choice.
Partial Design means a reduced scope and/or deliverables from that of Full Design

Specialization

01

Regenerative Landscape Design

When we center native and perennial plants in our landscapes, we promote local ecosystem regeneration, from soil to sky. Once established, regenerative landscapes require minimal amounts of time and resources for maintenance while increasing both curb appeal and property resilience. Through this design process, we create a vibrant living landscape and deepen our connection with it. A closer relationship with the land we live on empowers us to be its best stewards.

02

Sustainable & Healthy Interior Design

Design that prioritizes non-toxic and eco-friendly materials, finishes, and furnishings. We deserve our homes to be a source of health and joy, and not at the expense of faraway rainforests or nearby rivers. Every porcelain tile and every dining chair has a story. Through this design process, we are mindful of these stories in creating the perfect space for our needs.

03

Design for Disability, Neurodiversity, and Aging

This is a design layer baked into all of Lili’s work but one that deserves its own mention. Disability is something we all experience as we get older, and a lot of us experience it early on in life. In this design practice, we work together to identify design goals that support our unique circumstances. Our spaces should adapt to us, not the other way around!

04

Remediating & Medicinal Plants

No matter what cultures we originate from, our ancestors used plants in more ways than just consumption. Learning how to use these plants can reconnect us with our lineages and traditions. Growing these plants ourselves is an opportunity for an even deeper relationship with Nature, whether spiritual- or scientific-based (or both!) Remediating and medicinal plants have plenty to offer us in support of our own wellness and that or our surrounding landscapes.

Why Regenerative

Because the mainstream solution to climate change (use less, reduce our environmental impact…) is not always practical or accessible. It also focuses on the negative, on us being bad. But what if we flipped this so-called solution on its head? What if instead of focusing on reducing our negative impact, we focused on increasing our positive impact? Instead of striving to be less bad, we worked on being more good? If we embraced living in community with, as opposed to separate from the land?

This simple shift opens up our minds to brighter possibilities, including that of a recovered and thriving planet Earth, and prosperous and happy humans. We can be good and be well. When it comes to where and how we live, we don’t have to choose between Nature and Design.
