Roles on the Project
Fixtures, Finishes and Furniture
As part of the interior design team, one of Lili’s main tasks was the design and development of the custom fixtures, finishes, and furniture for the space.
Fixtures: concept and design development for bespoke counters and lighting. Counters were to house specific bank operation technology and serve as high-touch points of customer interaction. The selected finishes were resilient and easy to maintain while still cohesive with the high-end aesthetic.
Lighting: custom chandelier design.
Finishes: custom metal and carpet design in partnership with suppliers. High-end commercial grade wood and stone tile flooring.
Furniture: custom fabric selection in partnership with luxury furniture houses.
3D Modeling & Visualization Lead
With every new design deliverable, the team produced new sets of architectural renderings. Lili helped streamline the rendering process by organizing shared assets such as model components and texture maps. This made for easier team collaboration and faster iteration.
Concept and Design Development phases included various levels of rendering fidelity as new elements were added to the design. During the Concept phase focus was more on an overall look & feel and finish palette. As the team transitioned into Design Development, more focus was spent on detailing individual fixtures and perfecting the realism of the rendered finishes and lighting.
Software used: Sketchup, Enscape, Photoshop, Revit.
Space Programming
As desingers, we often encounter unforeseen challenges when we transition from 3D models to real site conditions. Such was the case here too, so the team had to pivot and adjust the store layout accordingly.
Lili visited the site to document the conflicting conditions, then worked with the project architect and client to find the best solutions. A test fit exercise and close communication helped minimize design changes while ensuring operational needs were unaffected by the challenge.
